TRIP, SLIP, AND FALL ACCIDENTS

Trip, slip, and fall accidents can happen at any time in a city as busy as New York.  We need to be mindful of where we are walking at all times, especially on the sidewalks, where large cracks and damage can be very common.  Other dangers present themselves when the ground or floor is slippery or wet.

In 2023, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that almost 20% of work related accidents from a trip, slip, or fall resulted in death in the State of New York (except NYC). That is a staggering amount when you consider it is higher than the national average throughout the United States.

If you are injured, it is important to remember the exact location where you were injured. If possible, take photographs where you are at that precise moment. See if anyone witnessed the accident, as they may be able to help you when called upon to testify as to how the accident happened.
